  • To key approximately 25 wam with good accuracy.

 

Communication Skills

  • To create simple documents in a basic word processor.

 


Module 1: Alphabetic Keys

 

  • Key the alphabetic keys by touch.
  • Key using proper techniques.
  • Key at a rate of 14 gwam or more.

 

Module 2: Figure and Symbol Keys

 

  • Key the numeric keys by touch.
  • Use symbol keys correctly.
  • Build keying speed and accuracy.
  • Apply correct number expression.
  • Apply proofreader's marks.
  • Apply basic internet skills.

Level 2: Formatting Business Documents

 


Keyboarding

 

  • To key about 40 wam with good accuracy.

 

Document Design Skills

 

  • To format accurately business letters, memos, reports, and tables.
  • To apply basic design skills to newsletters and announcements.

 

Word Processing Skills

 

  • To learn the basic word processing competencies.
  • To create, edit, and format documents efficiently.

 

Communication Skills

 

  • To apply proofreader's marks and revise text.
  • To compose simple e-mails and other documents.

 


Module 3: Word Processing Basics

 

  • Create documents.
  • Save, preview, and print documents; use Help.
  • Create and modify character and paragraph formats.
  • Edit documents and apply communication skills.
  • Build keyboarding skills.

 

Module 4: Business Correspondence

 

  • Learn standard memorandum format.
  • Format letters in block style.
  • Format letters in modified block style.
  • Modify tabs.
  • Create envelopes.

Module 5: Simple Reports

 

  • Format two-page reports with references and title pages.
  • Indent long quotations and bibliography entries appropriately.
